Water Reservoir and Well Automation
|
|
 |
Automation is nececessary especially, if the water tank is filled by more than
one resource (i.e. well) or when the water tank is far away from the water well.
If water in the tank falls below a certain level, the tank may not function any more
as there will be no water in the pipe. Or if the engine is not switched off at the right
time , the tanke would be overfilled which leads to excess consumption. Both of these
undesired cases can be prevented by automation. The system checks the water levels in the tank
continuously, before the tanks is overfilled or before the water falls below the minimum level
it switches off and on the engine to feed the pump as needed.
Through the transparent communication facilitated by the GPRS telemetry devices mounted at the tank
and at the well, without a manual intervention the tank is filled with the right amount of water
at the right time. Through the aater level electrodes, water gauges that measure minimum and maximum level
or analogue sensors that provide instantaneous level information measure, the relays switch on and of
the engines at the right time and water is pumped to tanks at the right time.

At the Aydın provincial gendarmerie, where one of our successful implementation went live,
the tank used to be filled by manually switching the engine on and off. Now the operation is
an automatic one where the gendarmas do not need to travel the 4km distance between the water tank
and the gendarmerie. Benefits of the
automation implemented;
Travelling the wide distance used to cost them 2000 YTL per year whereas they
do not need to spend that amount anymore as they do not need to travel the distance.
For operational excellence , it is important that the water tank always have water especially
during gendarma bath times, otherwise things may get delayed.
As overfilling is prevented, there is no excess, unnecessary expenditures on water any more.
As the water level in the tank will never fall below the minimum level, the water tank will never go out of order.
